CeRam-Kote Offshore Applications

Problem:

Shipping containers that transport materials in the Middle East withstand the abuse of shipping and are exposed to highly corrosive atmospheric conditions. The containers shown are used to transport dry drilling mud products to offshore drilling rigs in the Arabian Gulf, so are exposed to the harsh marine salt spray.

Solution:

CeRam-Kote 54® was selected by Petro-Chem for its corrosion protection and high abrasion resistance, along with the ease of repair to the coating when it suffers damage from transport or loading. CeRam-Kote 54®‘s low water vapor permeability feature allows the coating to last well beyond the inservice life of other coatings subjected to the same environment.

Result:

More than sixty (60) containers have been coated with CeRam-Kote 54® both internally and externally by Sigma Engineering Works to date, with another (40) forty being fabricated and coated with CeRam-Kote 54®.
