CeRam-Kote General Industry Applications

Problem:

A pulp mill that produces chemically bleached pulp presented severe sheet metal corrosion problems on the outside of the bleaching building. The combination of chlorine dioxide gas, peroxide, other chemicals, humidity and temperature destroyed a significant portion of the sheet metal in a period of 18 months.

Solution:

The sheet metal that was in bad condition was replaced with new sheet metal. As a test, a portion of the new sheet metal was coated with CeRam-Kote 54®. The rest of the new sheet metal was installed with the factory-provided coating, as purchased.

Results:

After a period of 12 months, the portion of the sheet metal coated with CeRam-Kote 54® was in perfect condition with no signs of corrosion. The sheet metal with the factory-provided finish was severely corroded.
