Problem:
One of the most common forms of fertilizer in New Zealand is Super-phosphate. This is an abrasive granular product with a corrosive acid content and has a tendency to adhere to surfaces even when dry.
Solution:
Due to previous successful uses of CeRam-Kote 54® in highly abrasive and corrosive environments, the internal surfaces of the fertilizer hopper, the blower and spinners have been coated with CeRam-Kote 54® to protect against corrosion and abrasion.
CeRam-Kote 54® has a static coefficient of friction value equivalent to Teflon® (PTFE) coating materials. This high surface lubricity feature is expected to keep the Superphosphate from adhering to the fertilizer truck hopper and spreading mechanisms
