Problem:
Rescue boats are subjected to harsh weather conditions during stormy at-sea rescues. Previous coatings would chip and tear when impacted or damaged and were extremely toxic and difficult to apply. The U. S. Coast Guard was interested in a coating that would provide superior abrasion resistance.
Solution:
Hulls were grit blasted to recommended specifications. CeRam-Kote 54® was applied directly to the blasted surfaces from the keel to the waterline. CeRam-Kote 54® was easy to apply and meets all VOC rules and regulations. The U. S. Coast Guard has been pleased with CeRam-Kote 54®'s performance and continues to use the product regularly on several types of vessels.
